How the new Hall could be used

The accommodation will include:

  • A large Meeting or Function Room

  • A small Meeting Room

  • A large store for equipment as well as a few smaller store cupboards

  • Male, Female and Disabled toilets which will also serve the Museum

  • Kitchen with dry store

  • There will also be an external courtyard area, a paved patio at the rear of the Hall with doors to the Function Room and car parking

  • The children's play equipment that currently occupies the site will be re-located south of the Hall in the grounds

The Village Hall will be available for use by the general public either as a part of an activity organised by the Village Hall Trust or by hiring the Hall for their own use in the usual way. There will be no restrictions as to use subject to the payment of any reasonable fees for the hire of the Hall to cover its running costs. There will be a booking process to hire the Hall which the operations manager will organise. In addition to the commercial hire of the Hall to various groups and users the Village Hall Trust will encourage the use of the Hall by Local groups with a view to bringing a wide range of opportunities to the local community which they would otherwise not be able to enjoy.

The potential uses of the new Hall could include:

  • Pre-school activities 0-4 years - crèche, preschool, parent toddler etc.

  • Children's activities 5-12 after school club, brownies, cubs, playscheme etc.

  • Young people's activities 13-19 - youth club

  • Adult fitness, recreation, sport activities - yoga, keep-fit etc.

  • Adult cultural activities, photography, painting, drama clubs

  • Older adult activities - luncheon club, senior citizen clubs

  • Private Hirings - wedding parties, social gatherings

  • Enterprising activities that generate revenue for the hall - conferences, antiques, craft fairs

  • Educational & Training - adult learning, return to work, IT, basic skills courses

  • Other community activities - Polling Station, Parish Council and other Public meetings
